Noir and mysterious: frankincense and resins.

At the beginning of time, when the breath of the world was unseen,
the gods sought a way to unite earth and heaven,
so that human prayer would not be lost in the dust,
but would reach those beyond the stars.

Then Isis offered the gods the tears of the world:
drops of resin that fell upon the hot sand.
They became still, absorbing the pain of the earth and the light of the sun.
Anubis gathered them and lit them in a sacred bowl.

The smoke rose,
thin and silvery, like the breath of a soul,
and for the first time, scent found meaning.

Thus frankincense was born:
the first language in which humans and gods understood one another.
